Becoming a Patient

Finding out if you are a candidate for treatment by our practice is a simple process. To become a patient of the AEGD program, individuals are evaluated to determine if their dental needs are appropriate for treatment in the residency program. We are always looking for patients who need complex dental treatment, such as tooth replacement with implants or smile improvement with aesthetic dental procedures. Typically, the fees associated with these services are approximately 40 percent less than those charged by a private dental practice.

Step 1
Patients are briefly examined during a screening appointment. The goal of the appointment is to assess the dental needs of the patient and the experience a resident will receive by providing treatment. Because of the need to find dental cases that match our residents’ requirements, cases that are extremely routine or are too difficult will not be accepted for treatment. Other factors that determine whether a patient is a candidate for our program may include the patient's medical condition and ability to afford potential treatment.

Step 2

Once accepted into the AEGD program for treatment, a second appointment will be made during which the patient has an initial work-up. This will include photos, X-rays, examination and models of the mouth to evaluate the oral conditions and assist in formulating a treatment plan. This visit costs approximately $150.

Step 3
The third visit with AEGD is typically the time when patients are presented with proposed treatment options, length and steps of the treatment and associated fees.
