Program History

Since being founded in 1981, the Graduate Orthodontic Program has bestowed masters degrees on over 125 graduates. Of those, two have gone on to become orthodontic department chairs at other institutions, while another is director of a graduate program in orthodontics. There are 5 serving as part-time faculty members. The department is committed to advancing orthodontic knowledge through research. Since its founding, the department has published over 80 articles in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, 15 in the Angle Orthodontist, and 45 in other orthodontic and basic science journals and textbooks.
