Procedures performed in the graduate clinic on a routine basis involve periodontal osseous and regenerative surgeries; soft tissue procedures for root coverage and non-root coverage applications; implant placements with associated regenerative procedures; and ridge augmentation procedures, among others.
*Assisting in surgical procedures will require OSHA, HIPAA and other relevant certification from the OU Health Sciences Center. If you are interested in assisting, please contact us ahead of your arrival so that we can provide a list of required documentation. While we will assist in obtaining the required certification, all relevant costs will be at the expense of the attendee.
Classroom activities involve classic, implant and current literature review seminars, clinical case conferences and other continuing education activities.
This program is a non-degree program sponsored by the Department of Periodontics. Courses taken during this externship program will not receive Graduate College credit. Acceptance in the Master of Science Graduate Periodontal program is not ensured upon completion of this program. However, this externship program will benefit participants wishing to apply to a degree-granting graduate program in Periodontics in our college or any other educational institution in the U.S.
Program tuition is $750.00 per week (payable to OUCOD Graduate Periodontics Program) for a maximum of eight weeks.
