Our program is very clinically oriented. Residents provide patient care approximately 85% of the time. Our program is managed much like a private group practice with the major emphasis on high quality comprehensive care. The program also emphasizes treatment planning, treatment sequencing, and periodontal/restorative relationships.
The patient pool is excellent and provides a wide range of experiences. Complex restorative patients are regularly seen by the residents. These may include fixed or fixed/removable combination cases, immediate dentures, or implants. We have been placing implants in our clinic since November, 1997 and have seen this aspect of our training continue to grow. We also do as much esthetic dentistry as possible including ceramic veneers, all-ceramic crowns, posterior composites, and ceramic inlays and onlays. The limiting factor on esthetic cases is most often patient finances. We have the latest and most capable computer practice management software in order to make the residents and office staff more efficient. And, we also utilize the latest clinical dental technology, such as chairside digital radiography and CAD-CAM generated restorations.
The AEGD clinic has 11 operatories. Each of the six residents is assigned to an operatory and is provided a dental assistant. AEGD employs two full time dental hygienists to compliment our preventive program. Our clinic is an attractive, modern facility with up-to-date materials and equipment. Nitrous oxide and radiology support are available within the clinic.
Residents receive didactic and clinical training in all areas of dentistry. Practice management is emphasized with the participation of nationally known speakers and residents involvement in the management of the practice. We have also developed an incentive program to financially reward productive residents who maintain high clinical standards.
Applicants must be graduates of an accredited North American dental school. Applications are accepted through the PASS program or directly to the Program Director. At this time, the program does not participate in the Match process. The deadline for applications is November 1. Please direct inquiries and requests for applications to:
