Facilities

The Graduate Orthodontics Program is housed on the 4th floor of the OU College of Dentistry. In the clinic, each resident is assigned an exclusive clinic chair. Adjacent to the clinic are the resident offices where each office is shared by two residents, with each resident having their own desk. Each office is networked to the department server and wired to a high-speed internet connection.


The Department of Orthodontics is committed to incorporating much of the latest technology to enhance treatment and education. In the summer of 2003, the graduate clinic underwent a major remodeling and equipment upgrade. The clinic was equipped with 11 new A-dec dental chairs as well as new doctor and assistant chairs. A High-speed wireless network was installed to enhance mobility of the residents' Wi-Fi enabled notebook computers. At the same time, Viewpoint by Ortho II Practice Management software program was installed system-wide to facilitate management of patient records. Digital clinical photos and digitally scanned radiographs are managed with Dolphin Imaging software. The department seminar room is equipped with digital projection equipment for group presentation. Renovations have just been completed on the orthodontic library, seminar room, lab and Denver Growth Study Room.


With a location within the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, students also enjoy all the facilities the university has to offer. Ample parking for patients, student and staff is available across the street from the College of Dentistry. Also across the street, The Bird Health Sciences Library is immediately accessible.


Within a short walking distance is The OUHSC Student Union which offers administrative services, a cafeteria, as well as banking and fitness facilities.
