The entire program includes about 70 credit hours of clinical and didactic courses. Since the orthodontics specialty program is a masters degree granting program, tuition is charged at the rates for the OUHSC Graduate school rather than the dental school tuition rates. Graduate school rates per credit hour are lower than that of the OU Dental School. The graduate tuition for the 2007-2008 academic year is $143.80 per semester hour for residents of Oklahoma and $518.00 per semester
hour for nonresidents. The most current fees and tuition rates per semester hour can be obtained from the
OUHSC Admissions and Records office.
Each resident admitted to the program is expected to purchase orthodontic instruments, a digital camera and a notebook computer for use during the program. Combined, the equipment costs are approximately $6,000. This equipment is property of the residents during and after completion of the program.
