| With age, the gingival epithelial attachment to the cementum regresses. Sometimes a dental cuticle (material built up between the cementum and epithelium) forms. Numerous inflammatory cells (many red dots in connective tissue) indicate the existence pathological process (e.g. gingivitis). | ||||||||
