OU College of Dentistry Oral Pathology
About the Program
The OU Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Laboratory has been providing service to clinicians since 1972. Pathology reports for most specimens are faxed within 24 hours of receipt of the specimen. Telephone reports are made for all malignancies and serious disorders. 6-month course of study in graduate periodontics is July 1st of each year.
Pathologists
Glen D. Houston, D.D.S., M.S.D.
Dr. Glen Houston is Professor and Chair, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Professor, Department of Pathology in the Colleges of Dentistry and Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He is also the Director of the Oral and Maxillofacial Laboratory, College of Dentistry. Dr. Houston received his DDS Degree from Baylor University and his Masters Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, Indiana. He completed a Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.
David M. Lewis, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. David Lewis is Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and Associate Professor, Department of Pathology, Colleges of Dentistry and Medicine, at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. He received his DDS Degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He completed his pathology training at the United States Army Institute of Dental Research in Washington, D.C. Dr. Lewis completed a Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, D.C. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology and the American Board of Oral Medicine.
