The primary focus of The University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry is the education and training of dentists and dental hygienists for the State of Oklahoma. Patients are selected to join the program who meet the educational needs of our students.
Adult Clinic
Adults who wish to be a patient of the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry student clinic program must be screened to determine eligibility. The screening appointment will include an examination by a student and attending faculty member. There may be a need to take a minimal number of radiographs (x-rays) during the screening examination.
To schedule an adult screening appointment -
Please call 405-271-6056 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday to schedule a screening appointment. A limited number of patients are accepted for screenings each month. When you call 271-6056, you may receive a message stating that our screening appointment list is full. This will occur when we have enough patients scheduled for the current month. If this occurs, please call back in one or two weeks. We currently are making screening appointments one month ahead of time. Please listen to the complete menu list when you call 271-6056.
The screening appointment will determine if your dental needs match the educational needs of our students. A screening does not guarantee acceptance into the adult program.
If you are accepted into the adult program, every effort will be made to assign your care to a dental student; however, assignment to a student cannot be guaranteed.
Dental Hygiene Care (teeth cleaning)
To schedule an appointment for teeth cleaning only -
- Call 405-271-7327 to schedule an appointment for dental hygiene screening.
- Calls for Dental Hygiene Only screenings are accepted Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- The screening fee is $10.00 (cash only).
A dental hygiene student, under the supervision of a licensed dental or dental hygiene faculty member, will provide your care.
Financial Arrangements
The College of Dentistry is a provider for a limited number of insurance companies. Our staff will file your insurance claim for you even if your carrier is not one of the contracted companies. You will be responsible for any amount not covered by your insurance company. If you are not covered by dental insurance, payment plans are available, otherwise, payment is expected at the time services are provided.
