Application Checklist
All applicants must apply through the American Association of Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS). AADSAS information, including application forms and instructions, is available on the American Dental Education Association (ADEA) Web site at www.adea.org.
The items listed below are required by AADSAS for a completed application. In order to be considered by the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, your application must be received by AADSAS no later than September 15th for non-residents, and December 1st for Oklahoma residents.
In addition, a separate OU Application Supplement must be electronically submitted to the College of Dentistry. Both your AADSAS application and your OU Application Supplement / fee must be received by the College of Dentistry in order to be considered for admission.
1. The following items are submitted to AADSAS according to their instructions:
- AADSAS Dental School Application - The 2010 AADSAS Dental School Application is available beginning June 1st.
- Official Transcript(s) - Official transcripts from each college or university attended showing all coursework attempted and completed.
- Letters of Recommendation
AADSAS Dental School Application
1. A letter from a dentist.
2. A recommendation mailed directly from your institution's Pre-professional Advisory Committee is preferred. In lieu of a committee recommendation, two letters of recommendation from science instructors are acceptable.
2. The following items are provided to the University of Oklahoma College of Dentisty:
- On-line Application Supplement and fee
- DAT Scores - Designate our dental school to receive your test scores
- Updates - Additional coursework, observation hours, updated transcripts, or changes in your contact information may be sent to:

OU Application Supplement / Fee
3. International applicants may be required to provide additional information with their application. The following application requirements pertain to all International applicants (US Citizens and Non-US Citiizens):
- Official TOEFL Score (English Proficiency)
Acceptable TOEFL scores are required of all applicants from countries where English is the second language. This requirement pertains to any person born outside the United States and includes Permanent Residents of the U.S. (green card holders) and Naturalized U.S. Citizens. The College of Dentistry may waive TOEFL scores if the applicant provides evidence of a diploma from an English-speaking high school or a bachelorŐs degree from a U.S. institution. An official score report must be received by OUHSC Admissions and Records directly from Educational Testing Service.
The minimum test scores for applicants to the Doctor of Dental Surgery program are as follows:
Paper Based TOEFL: 570
Computer Based TOEFL: 230
Internet Based TOEFL: 88 - Transcript Evaluations by World Education Services (WES)
All applicants with foreign credentials are required to submit official documents to WES for a course-by-course evaluation.
