Career Ladder Program

Application Deadline: June 1st

Formal admission to the University of Oklahoma is an initial requirement for admission to RDH-to-BSDH Track. The application deadline is June 1 prior to planned fall enrollment, and October 1 prior to planned spring enrollment.

Requirements

1. Photo copy of passing score on the National Dental Hygiene Board Examination.
2. Two letters of recommendation from:
   • The director or clinical supervisor of the dental hygiene program attended
   • One from the applicant's current or most recent dental hygiene employer
     
     
   In the event of extenuating circumstances, the Chair of the Department may approve other sources of recommendations.
3. Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended.
4. A written career statement

5. Submit a completed University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center application online that includes the prioritized site(s) for which the applicant wishes to be considered.

6. If English is the student's second language, a minimum score of 250 is required on the national standardized TOEFL examination.

Instructions

1. Send to Admissions and Records the following items:
   • OUHSC application fee (if not paid online by credit card)
   • The College processing fee (if not paid online by credit card)
   • Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
   • It is the responsibility of the applicant to confirm receipt of the above information. To do this, follow this link: OU Health Science Center Application Status. Follow directions provided.      **Confirmation of correct information by the applicant MUST be completed by February 1st of the year of application to be eligible for possible interview.
     
     
2. Send to the Department of Dental Hygiene the following items:
   • A written career statement
   • Photocopy of passing score on the National Dental Hygiene Board Examination
   • Two letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with applicant's success or potential for successful completion of the program
