OU oral pathologists have provided practitioners with the highest quality of service since 1972. The service receives specimens from all over the United States.
A written pathology report is faxed within 24 hours of receipt for most specimens and a telephone report is made for all malignancies and serious disorders. We are available by phone if you wish to discuss the diagnosis of a case with us. A wide range of immunohistochemical studies are available for supplemental diagnosis of problematic cases.
The oral and maxillofacial pathology staff is dedicated to the delivery of timely (usually 24 hours) and accurate diagnostic reports to clinicians. Quality of care is the first priority of this contributor-oriented service.

Telephone consultations regarding biopsy reports and/or patient management are available between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Central time, Monday through Friday. Second opinions on microscopic interpretations are accepted. The clinician should request the outside pathologist to send slides and the pathology report directly to OU Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Laboratory along with patient billing/insurance information. Radiographic interpretation of jaw lesions is available upon request. This opinion will include differential diagnosis and management suggestions if desired. Clinical consultation visits are available through OU Dentistry (faculty practice) by Drs. David Lewis at the College of Dentistry, 1201 North Stonewall Avenue, Room 494, Oklahoma City, OK 73117-1214.
