Dr. Khajotia received his dental degree from the University of Bombay, India. After practicing for a couple of years, he earned a Masters in Dental Biomaterials at Marquette University, and then earned a Ph.D. degree with Distinction in Oral Biology, with an emphasis in Dental Materials, from the Medical College of Georgia. He taught part-time during his Ph.D. studies. Dr. Khajotia joined the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry as Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Dental Materials, and was subsequently promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure. He was then promoted to the rank of Professor, and was appointed as the Assistant Dean for Research and Advanced Programs before becoming the Associate Dean for Research.
Dr. Khajotia has broad research interests in the fields of Dental Biomaterials and Oral Biology. He also has a strong interest in educating dental and dental hygiene students, graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and junior faculty to become better practitioners via exposure to research, evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills. Dr. Khajotia gained training in the education of adult learners during his Ph.D. studies, and he continues to apply new teaching methodologies and pedadgogies in his classroom.
