Dr. Shadid joined the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry after 22 years in private practice and is currently serving as a Clinical Associate Professor and the Division Head of Endodontics. After graduating from OUCOD in 1993, he completed a General Practice Residency at St. Anthony Hospital and then received his Certificate in Endodontics as well as his Master of Science in Dentistry degree in 1996 from the University of Washington in Seattle.

His research has been published in the Journal of Endodontics and he has presented at the national, state and local level.  His current field of interest is in preclinical and clinical education in which he is currently involved in ongoing research in the area of self-perceived preparedness.

He is active in both campus and college organizations including: the OUHSC Library Advisory Committee, Curriculum Committee, Clinic Operations Committee and the Tulsa Expansion Committee.

When Dr. Shadid is not at work he supports the Boy Scouts of America and St. Elijah Orthodox Church.  He is often found participating in community service with his two children through their school service projects.  David also enjoys unwinding in his garden, an occasional game of tennis or working on his stamp collection.
