The University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry Alumni Awards recognizes alumni and friends who have made a distinctive impact on the college through their exceptional achievements, service and transformational support.
Award recipients best represent a spirit of community and commitment to excellence demonstrating the college's highest values.
NOMINATIONS
Alumni of the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry are invited to nominate alumni and friends whose exceptional achievements, service and transformational support exemplify leadership and college values.
CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION
- Exceptional leadership in philanthropy, cumulative years of volunteer service and or concentrated activities over
a period of time that improve the life of the college.
- Nominees shall include local and geographically dispersed alumni who have achieved excellence in their field
and have made an essential difference in the lives of students, alumni and faculty.
- If not selected upon first review, individuals will be considered for two more consecutive years.
- Recipients can only be awarded once in their lifetime. Regents, faculty and staff are ineligible.
CATEGORIES FOR CONSIDERATION:
- Dental Alum of the Year
- Young Dental Alum of the Year
- Dental Hygiene Alum of the Year
- Young Dental Hygiene Alum of the Year
- and the Stephen K. Young Distinguished Service Award
SERVICE AND SUPPORT DESCRIBED
- Engaged beyond campus in activities that champion the University raising awareness for the institution and its
key initiatives.
- Assistance with student and or faculty recruiting efforts.
- Participation on University committees, college boards and or advisory councils.
- Commitment to philanthropic efforts and coordination of fundraising activities.
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
- Nominations may come from those who work directly with our alumni and alumni club representatives; and or from Deans and Department Chairs who identify outstanding alumni engaged with the OU community.
CONFERRING OF AWARD
Our distinguished recipients will be recognized at the annual Dean's Circle Dinner during Alumni Weekend.
