Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) This is a one-year program with an optional second year. Both options provide the opportunity for you to increase your knowledge in all aspects of dentistry through direct patient care, lectures, seminars and workshops. In the second year, residents have greater flexibility to custom design a program permitting emphasis in your areas of interest. Advanced Education Clinic The School of Dental Medicine in Alton provides a base for the majority of the didactic and clinical education. Clinical care provided at the Advanced Education Clinic includes advanced restorative dentistry and implant dentistry, as well as care for medically compromised and geriatric patients. Motivated residents have the opportunity to follow patients through treatment planning, surgery and the final restorative phases of implant dentistry. Implant related seminars are scheduled monthly. Do You Enjoy Variety? Our residency offers you the opportunity to work at four additional distinct locations, each with differing patient populations, and each supported by its own faculty and staff. We believe this offers a unique opportunity for experience and education. • Special Needs Clinic • Touchette Regional Hospital • Oral Surgery Clinic • East St. Louis Clinic • Edwardsville Clinic Benefits • $50,000 annual salary • Health, dental and vision insurance available • Personal leave in addition to university holidays and breaks • St. Louis nightlife and cultural offerings just 30 minutes from campus Accreditation The Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
