Oral Pathology Services

OU's oral pathologists have provided practitioners with the highest quality of service since 1972.  The service receives specimen from all over the United States and each biopsy is carefully reviewed by our board certified oral and maxillofacial pathologists:

A written pathology report including a gross and microscopic description with a final diagnosis and corresponding ICD-10 code will be faxed to your office upon completion of each case. Immunohistochemical staining is available to our team to support the diagnosis of challenging cases. The oral and maxillofacial pathology staff is dedicated to the delivery of timely and accurate diagnostic reports to clinicians.

We provide complimentary biopsy kits that include formalin filled specimen bottles, biopsy requisition forms, and FedEx lab pack with billable stamp (at no charge to the submitting provider). Biopsy kits can be requested by completing the form below:

Second opinions on microscopic interpretations are also accepted.  The clinician should request the outside pathologist to send slides and the pathology report directly to OU Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Laboratory along with patient medical billing/insurance information.

Clinical consultation visits are available through OU Dentistry (faculty practice) with Dr. Ronald Faram or Dr. Kathleen Higgins at the College of Dentistry, 1201 North Stonewall Avenue, Room 494, Oklahoma City, OK  73117-1214.  Appointments can be made by calling 405-271-5714.
