Prospective Students

The OU College of Dentistry is home to the state of Oklahoma’s only Doctor of Dental Surgery degree program and Bachelor of Science degree in dental hygiene. In addition, the College of Dentistry also provides graduate and residency programs in advanced general dentistry, oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, and periodontics.

Course Overview: 

Panoramic imaging is widely utilized in dental practices for evaluation of dentition and the surrounding maxillofacial region. Cone Beam Computed Tomograpgy is also being used more and more for diagnostic purposes. It is very important to acquire diagnostic quality radiographic images for accurate interpretation. 

 

Learning Objectives: 

At the end of this review course, the participants will be able to: 

1. Describe the proper technique for taking a diagnostic panoramic image with minimal errors 

2. Identify normal anatomy, common errors and artifacts on panoramic images 

3. Discuss normal anatomy, common pathology and incidental findings on CBCT scans 

 

About the Speaker: 

Dr. Farah Masood has served as the Division Head for Oral Radiology at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry since 2000. She is also the director of all oral radiology courses for dental and dental hygiene students.

Complimentary parking is available on the first level of the Stonewall Parking garage for courses held at the OU College of Dentistry. Please bring your ticket to the course for validation.
