The University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry is proud to announce the launch of the state’s only pediatric dentistry residency program. Training under the mentorship of highly qualified, board-certified pediatric dentistry faculty, residents will provide preventive and comprehensive care to a large and diverse pediatric patient population in the nationally-ranked Oklahoma Children’s Hospital OU Health and the co-located dental clinic.
Our location on one of only four comprehensive health centers in the nation enables our dental providers to collaborate readily with specialists from other dental, medical and inter-professional disciplines on campus as they treat healthy children as well as special needs, medically compromised and behaviorally challenged patients.
The mission of The University of Oklahoma is to improve the health of Oklahomans and shape the future of dentistry by developing highly qualified dental practitioners and scientists through excellence in education, patient care, research, and community service. To achieve this mission, emphasis is placed on intensive evidence-based didactic learning combined with a diversity of hospital and community-based clinical experiences as well as local, national and global advocacy and outreach.
Three residents are accepted each year into this 24-month specialty certificate program, with the inaugural class beginning July 1, 2024.
