Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I become a patient of AEGD? Click Here

How long does a screening appointment typically take? The acquisition of panographic X-ray, interview and exam take approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

Will I be charged for my screening appointment? There is a fee associated with the panographic X-ray.

Do I need a referral from my general dentist? No, a referral from your dentist is not needed to apply for the AEGD program.

How do I find out if my insurance will assist with payment?  Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. As a courtesy, we try to accommodate patients who have dental insurance. Please understand that all insurance programs are different, and AEGD cannot address the many differences in coverage. When a treatment plan is decided upon, an explanation of benefits will be requested from the insurance company. Ultimately, dental insurance is a great help in achieving dental treatment but can never be expected to cover 100 percent of the cost.

Will I be treated by the same resident at every appointment? Generally, patients are seen by the same resident throughout their treatment, but on rare occasions a fellow resident might provide care.

Is age a factor in being accepted for treatment? AEGD does not provide dentistry for children, as our focus is on adult restorative dentistry.

Do I have to pay for parking? Patient parking will be validated at the time of your appointment so that you do not have to pay for parking in the Stonewall Parking Garage. The College of Dentistry also offers a free shuttle service from the parking garage to our facility. The shuttle runs every 3 to 5 minutes.
